Not sure if that store will carry that part. I show it on page 307 of Ecklers
catalog as either the EFE or EGR Vac. Control switch. When I replaced the thermostat housing on my 79 Vette I just tossed that part.
By the way I am pretty sure that I have a brand new one I could sell you.
I had ordered the one that screws into the intake manifold but they sent me
the wrong one, they sent me the one that is in the pic. Email me if you
are interested, my email is in my profile.

That's the early fuel evaporation (EFE) vacuum switch. It is heat actuated and pulls the heat riser open at about 120F. The EGR switch is on the intake.

I believe they call it a ported vacuum switch, also available through Napa

I recommend that you install it with a TFE (teflon) paste on the threads to prevent leakage. I use Harvey's pipe thread compound. LocTite makes a similar product.
