srong gas vapors/odors
I've checked fuel system front to back....no leaks anywhere. Had a mechanic check from front to back...and no leaks were found. He said it was in the smog system. This '79 was originally a California car.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to get repair this and get rid of the gas vapors/odors?????????????????

Re: srong gas vapors/odors (Johnny Whitney)
I had a similar problem with my 71 and found that my vapor canister was damaged. I replaced it and solved that issue. I do not know if 79 had a similar set up. .02$

My wifes car does that to. It smells worse at the can.
I just dont think it's worth replacing it on a 93 Buick Centry.

don't know if this might be your problem,i had a gas leak, fuel running on right side muffler, thought it was a seam in the gas tank ,turned out to be the cork gasket under the filler neck, $2.00 gasket ,little labor =lots of money saved.
