I was just a tough in the early seventies to pay 69 cts. Wages were lots less. During the enrgy crisis the real problem was getting gas.... Very few places were open for more than a couple of hours and there were long lines at the few stations that were open. Lots of stations were only open during hours when most people were working. I sat in line for an hour in a 70 BB in 95deg heat with no A/C. when Igot to the pump they were out of everthing except regular.. Don't try running regular in an LS5... It was almost undrivable. I say just be thankful you can get gas easily and can afford to buy it. Thing could be worse...

Gas prices have risen 10 cents a gallon in the past few days here in Pasadena, Maryland. I suspect they'll continue to rise right through the Memorial Day weekend. Went to see my son at college in Frostburg, Md and the gas was even higher there. Anything to get more money from the college kids. I guess we'll have to get used to it. I am finding myself trying to conserve a little here and there. Even thought about a motorcycle for the summers months. Good excuse to get on one again. Everbody take care.

Try buying gas in Ontario. .89 cents a liter. 3.9 litres to a gallon = $3.47!

Yep, SD is one of the highest. I don't look, just put in the nozzle and go. Maybe if prices go high enough I'll have the road to myself and all the goobers will be riding the bus

Seriously, it's diesel and JP-4 that you need to watch. Fuel costs for commercial transportation are gonna really hit us hard at the check stand and pretty much kill any economic recovery.

No matter what, I think we're :beatdeadhorse:

Wish it wasn't so, but free markets rule in the good ole USA. Demand goes up, market adjusts accordingly. Careful what you wish for here in terms of controls, or we may end up with european gas prices.

"I had a friend that" switched the numbers on the gas station's sign across the street (ground level). The change from 1.95 to 1.59 produced a pretty quick reaction... the first 2 people by slowed wayyy down and stared and the third pulled right in to the pump, checked it, then went to the main building and let them know their sign was off :nono:

Fun while it lasted :jester

Gas went up again, yesterday (Monday May 12), here in Michigan. Regular is now $2.089/gallon. The day before it was $1.96. :U

What gets my goat, is when I drive past a station that has been out of business for months to a year & the old gas prices are still up on the sign....$1.29

Saudi Arabia now says that maybe they should increase oil production after voting last month to cut it again. They should call OPEC and do this soon, maybe they forgot that the OPEC area code is in TEXAS!
