Default I'm Tired, two cars is to much!

Just crawled out from under the wife"s 82 and the differential is leaking like a seive. It seems to be coming from both axles. I don't know if I have it in me anymore for a job like this.
Anybody else feel like this sometimes? :cry

Yeah, I know what you mean. I've got two hobby type cars, one is a sometimes DD. They keep me busy. That's one of the reasons I've been working on this BB for over 2 years and it's still in the garage.

It can be overwhelming at times. Plus I still do some repairs etc on our 2 full time DD's. :cry

Car work does get a bit tiring, especially when your work doesn't "work out right"

NOt sure if I really enjoy working on cars, kinda liked building the new motor though. I sure do like driving it around after I do the work though :D

I have two vettes as well. Luckly for me one is almost new and does not require much time. :)

Bob,
That sucks but the job is pretty much what we went over a couple of months ago. I know you can do it and better then most shops would too.
These cars do require maintenance but then what doesn't? Try rebuilding three vettes at once
Let me know how it goes,
Gary

I just felt like complaining a little. Nows the time for driving not for fixin.
I'll probably drop this one and get a rebuilt unit. Time is the valuable commodity right now.

For me they're like heroin. I should just buy one new car and get rid of the rest, but where's the fun in that?

It's all worth it when I can go out and drive them and watch some kid's eyes get big and he says "wow, that's a xxxx, Wish I had one..." Plus new ones are real refined and good and all, but sometimes I just need to hear my BOSS 302 at 7000 rpm to remind me why I do it.

Stick with it, dude.

Hans

Cars are great... The bad thing about em is they wear ya down emotionally and physically... The cure for both of these is adrenaline... which is why we keep the cars!

Its one big cycle... I eat because I'm... ( :jester ) We love em, so they stay around... we bust knuckles, buy expensive parts... and sink more money into the hobby then we should! But, its rewarding

Man, you are tired of working on 2 cars? Try 3 1968 Firebirds, one I race ,one I show and one I just finished again with new engine trans, paint and interior . This has 523,000 miles on it and looks brand new again, i have owned it since 1980. 1 GTA Trans Am Convertibe 350, a 1982 Harley, and a 30 ft RV and a 1989 Full size Blazer and finally a 1974 Big Block convert Vette. Oh and a John Deer Riding lawn mower. And a bicycle built for two.

Bob, I know the feeling well. I have been speinding every spare minute working on the '56 Ford Victoria that I just got for my Dad. It's amazing what 4+ years of just "sitting" will do to a car. We've finally managed to get the brakes, power steering, and cooling system working up to snuff. Now we have to rebuild the temperature gauge and probably do an entire front suspension rebuild before it will be truly roadworthy.

Meanwhile, the '69 Vette is perched up on the lift, getting jealous because it's not being driven :cry

My wife and I currently have 14 cars and all but two are hobby cars. Fortunately, the vette doesn't currently need anything more than a good wash and wax. Yes, it can get overwhelming. I try and concentrate on one project at a time and farm out work that I don't have time to do.
