I'm wondering how much suspension travel you have before bottoming out or rubbing. How tight's your suspension.

That's looking awesome, I really like it. I would think the weels would be way too pimped out if you saw them apart from the car but they really look super nice on your ride. Thanks for my new Wallpaper

Re: Picture of my ride (82Red)
I pushed down real hard on my suspension, and it looks like I've got about 1/2" travel front and rear (if any)
You can't measure suspension travel by pushing down real hard. The springs need to be disconnected and then the wheel put through it's travel.
I personally don't like cars too low. I like my undercarriage and worry about scrapping it up over driveways , speed bumps and over curbs pulling in and out of most places.
I also get very annoyed at the guys who must come to almost a complete stop to enter of exit public places and the rest of us are to come to a stop so they con't bend a rim or scrap the underside.
A car needs to be a little practical if driven on the streets and slamed suspensions are not.

Re: Picture of my ride (82Red)
I don't think I will be annoying any of you guys anytime soon
I know that but I am not refering to you but the type of car. My wife and I were getting gas the other day and a ricer with rubber band tires was pulling in and he honestly almost came to a total stop trying to ease over the curb into the station on a 45 degree angle. It didn't interfer with me but how practical is that.
On a busy street that is cut by a railway crossing another ricer was comming the other way and here agian it came to almost a total stop and eased over the tracks. The rest of the line of cars had to do the same and if you are a few cars down the line you stop.
It is just not practical to have a car that can't even keep up with traffic if the road is the least bit rough.
I too do not drive alot, well maybe 2000 miles a summer I do not want to worry about hitting anything.
YOU have a beautiful car, enjoy it, drive more, well maybe not with the new gas prices.
Anyway you have alot of time and money in the car, enjoy it.

It looks good, but it's too low. I'd be worried about the oil pan, exhaust, bottoming out, etc.
I wonder what those rims would look like on my car...photochop anyone?
Haha, with my front spoiler I wouldn't be able to leave my driveway!!!

Re: Picture of my ride (MotorHead)
Another option is to bag it. Seen alot of cars including Vettes at shows whose front spoiler was 1-2" off the ground but when they get ready to drive they inflate the bags and off they go. Looks good!!

Re: Picture of my ride (82Red)
Beautiful car, but I DO NOT like the wheels or the height. It looks too low to be practical, and too low == worse handling. The wheels, both the size and style, just do not fit the body style. It's a classic car, the wheels should have a classic look. I'd like to move up to a 17" wheel for my '81 keeping the same overall tire height, but I haven't found exactly what I'm looking for.
