Any suggestions as to what a reputable paint shop might charge for paint and finishing?
I have a 1971 corvette and have completed most of the body and structural work i need, and have sanded the entire body by hand. Anyone have an idea of what a reputable body/paint shop might charge for final prep and a excellent quality paint job? :chevy

Re: Any suggestions
Just finished painting.
I think it largely depends in what area of the country you live. In the Southeast $4500 is typical and would include some minor body work.

Depeds on the shop. Most quality shops will sand the car down further than you did to ensure the surface. To stand behind the paint most will not take chances (even though you may have it slick) and go down to the glass.
I'd figure around $4-5K, this of course depends on the brand of paint and the color.

I agree....no matter what you do to the car ...the bodyshop is going to put tons of hours into it. They will not believe you did it correctly and will insist they have to do it to get it right.
