The odomoter on my '77 was seldom used by the previous owner, so it's difficult to reset. And the rubber **** on the end of the cable is long ago gone. I took off and lubed the short cable when I redid the dash bulbs, but it's still hard to reset without the help of plyers.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a **** replacement? The end of the cable where the factory **** goes isn't threaded, so none of the ***** available from Lowe's work.

I found a perfect **** at the local parts store, in the help section (the rack with all the red boxes). It's a metal **** with a lock screw. It even looks like it belongs in the car.

Several of the catalogs offer that ****. I think I got mine from Dr Rebuild.
