Slamming in the rear when i step on the gas and let off
OK..From what i've read this is a common problem. I read a few threads on it but kind find them in the search now. What bushing do i have to replace? Do have to disconnect the drive shaft?

Not to far from me. You might want to check the front diff bushing. This is the one at the front of the diff that attaches the bracket to the frame. This is a common bushing to go. I have replaced mine with urethane and it is rock solid. Also check the ujoints.

The clunk is the differential moving, the snubber is the bushing holding the differentials front in place.
I have bought a new snubber but I'm having problems changing it, it would probably be a lot easier if I removed the driveshaft. Please tell us how you managed it when you're done!

I was able to replace it without removing anything. A ratcheting wrench definately makes the job easier. It took me less then half an hour.

i never had that problem with the front diff rubber, but i have had broken u-joint caps that make an awfully curious sound when i punch it. have you checked to see if that is the source?

I should have been more verbose. What do you mean by "slamming"? A bad diff. snubber will "clunk" under those conditions, but I never thought of that as a slam. On the other hand, bad trailing arm bushings can cause your rear to thud (or slam in more extreme cases) in one direction or the other when you get on/off the go pedal.
