Default Got to fly a Piper last night.......some pics.

I know it's off topic, but I thaught I'd share some pictures anyway. I was surprized my boss let me take control of the plane. We were at around 1000 feet and doing 120mph and he tells me to take over,so I did.I pulled some pretty high G turns for a first time flyer, which was fun.Kind of reminded me of the Vette. :yesnod:

You guys should go get your licenses. It's really a lot of fun. Although airplanes and Vettes don't mix well as hobbies (at least for me right now). My Vette frame-off has prevented anything with wings being in my hanger for the last year and counting. Someday both will be in there, time and $ permitting.

That's cool.......Did you actually fly at night or was it dusk???????

.....A customer of mine let me fly this CT4 Airtrainer for a few minutes......not at that angle though :)

While we were up there he said: "I going to turn left now." I thought: "Yeh, so what???......when the G's kicked in and my stomach dropped 2 inches I thought: "Yep, thanks for the warning, bro :) ......."

I agree that it would be cool to have a plane and a Vette in the same hanger....but I'd have to get rid of the wife....her shoe collection is taking up too much space :)

What MIDI song is playing? I would like to hear the actual recorded version. Cool pics too by the way.

Man - brings back fond memories! Used to have my single
engine land license ohhh about 25 yrs ago - had to drop
it when the divorce soaked up all the resources. (they
tend to do that, huh?) Sure was great fun, though!
I learned in a Cessna 180. Friend of mine (crop duster
and charter business and who I took the lessons from)
also had a Mooney. WOW!

 About ten years ago I took a ride in a Pitts Special (stunt plane) while on vacation in Key West. Wasn't cheap about $300. for a twenty minute ride, but it was great. Chance of a lifetime and I will never forget it. We did everything that he normally does in a air show routine, after each trick he would ask you if you were feeling OK. Give him the thumbs up and he would do some more, thumbs down or any upchucking and the ride was over.
Pilot was great and he let me take the stick to make some turns.

Real men fly high wing planes, and God never made any low wing birds :) Sorry, required to say it, I'm a member of the Cessna owners club :)

Personally, flying is flying and no matter whether high or low wing, aviation is the most relaxing hobby I have.

Mark,

Congratulations on flying the Piper! I have 15,000 hours of flying time in a variety of birds from Cessna 150's to Boeing 767's. I enjoy it as much now as I did 25 years ago.

Be careful, it is an addiction.

Regards,

Mark Donnally

The midi on the website is "Starship Trooper" by Yes ,and I'm afraid my on ground addiction will prevent a flying one.My boss was trying to impress me with the fact we were doing 120 mph, which was fun,but to be honest the Vette gives a road feel that the Piper could not.I've been well over 120 mph on the ground in the Vette, and love the feel the car gives in the corners, like an extension of your mind. You think it,and it happens.
Flying was fun though. Not too many folks get a chance to even try it,and I'm grateful I was able to.

I believe there was an old Beach Boys tune that kinda summed up our Vettes I think it went something like------"if she had a set of wings I know she could fly.........." :yesnod:
