Default autometer gauges (groovyjay??)

I know some people here run autometer gauges, Monty had them in his car and GroovyJay has them too, they are the only 2 I know of running them in late model clusters. I was wondering which gauges you are using, I have acquired a 200MPH electronic spedo and a 10Krpm tach, both pro comp ultra lite. Now I need some inspiration on mounting them. How did you hook it up to the original main connector that plugs into the back of the original printed circuit. I've been thinking about cutting those connector tabs and using those slide over spade thingies.

I made the whole panel for the speedo and tach out of billet and all the wireing is also home made. I'm using the same tach as you, but my 200mph speedo is mechanical.

how did you cut such neat holes in the aluminium? do you have access to a machine shop or something ?

The only reason my speedo is electric is because there's a VSS on the ZF6, no mech. hookup available (not that I mind tho ;) )

I just checked out your (old) site... neat..those pics will be handy :) Still contemplating building a complete new dash using an early upper dash section and building the lower section from aluminium...or something (maybe carbon_

Is there a cheaper alternative to white face guages? can't you just buy some inserts like you can for all the other cars?

it's not about having white face gauges... it's about have better more accurate gauges and ones that are more useful.
