Windsheild wiper compartment
Does anyone have any ideas on what to use on the windsheild wiper compartment on a 79?. The car is all original but the inside of the compartment looks terrible. Any ideas? Thanks ........LT

Sevral Corvette supply houses offer a fibre glass/plastic ?? cover for this area. It is designed just for the 73-up corvettes. They look real nice.

I don't know what to put on that area, but it has got to be the ugliest area on the entire C3! I'm going to buy one of those panels as well..

Well... you could always trade the car for a 68-72 and solve the problem without any mods. No clutter one those..

Maybe coat it with some por-15?
Check out their website, they have different coatings for a wide variety of applications. E-mail them. I'm sure they can recommend something.

I removed all the wipers, taped off the windshield and scraped the area down. The I used undercaoting, it looks good. While the wipers and mechanical stuff was off I wire brused them down and used some semigloss black on those parts. Came out looking clean.

:iagree: Any good "rubberized" undercoating will handle the slight flexing that takes place in that area and seal the little cracks that cause the annoying leaks under there.
