Restore or Replace?
Well after tearing down my 77's engine I've come to relize I could have some costly damage, but I could tune up the whole engine with performance parts for around 5000.... or I could just drop in a crate for much less.
Problem is the engine is the original (numbers matching) and I don't know whether I should hurt my pride or my wallet. Comments? :flag

Re: Restore or Replace? (JMNBRZ)
If #'s matching is, or could be important, yank out the original (store it) and have some fun with a crate, or build up a donor motor yourself. IMO, that gives you the best of both worlds ....

Re: Restore or Replace? (75Rag)
:iagree: This way if the next owner wants the original motor he can have it. It might be a paint to keep but it is worth it. Crate motor is the way to go.
