I am working on installing my rear bumper covers, and the bottom edge hits my exhaust turn downs. I installed a set of 2 chamber FlowMasters, and just "eyeballed" how far the tip should extend. Wwell, my eyeball had too many Budweisers that day.

So, does any ever cut a half circle into the lower lip of the bumber cover to clear the exhaust turndows, or is that generally considered a "no -no"?
My Vette isn't being restored. It is my daily driver, so she'll never see a 10-point inspection.

I can always re-work the mufflers to move them further under the car and gain the required clearence.

I think it could go either way.

My exhaust system "slipped" after some mechanics did work on the car and burnt two holes in my rear bumper cover, which, where they're at, are impossible to find.

However, if I had my way, I would have never had it happen and just kept the exhaust lined up right. Having the exhaust too close also stains the rear bumper...
