gone is that ugly hood latch cable
It was too long, butt ugly and not adjustable apart from the tab with all the holes at the end. I replaced it with this. It's made from a lokar throttle cable, some custom bits and trimming and I now have a nice cable that not only looks good but fits properly also.
..might be a nice idea for someone wanting to change his/her cable.

No, I fabricate and weld inside, in my garage. The problem is, the other garage still isn't ready (not even started on the build) and I don't have room for the vette. It's sitting outside under a tarp so I build the parts or whatever I'm making and install them on the car. It's kind of a PITA but better then nothing. Plenty of people don't even have a garage. I have a 2 car one and it's crammed full with cars, parts, tools and junk.

Is that the orig location of the cable? the cable is attached to the under side of my 73 hood so this is just the 2 receiving pins on the fire wall.

Very good idea. I like it and it really looks good under there. First time I have seen someone do this.

Looks good. What about hood latches? what year(s) is this idea good for. I know there are different latch set=ups for different C3s. In other words... More detail, I might consider this idea.

the latches are visible in the pics, only the springs and rubber bump thingies are not on them, the later cars have the latches on the firewall with the locking tabs on the hood.

Damn someone noticed the small little pink leaves :)
The damn tree sporting those is right next to the vette and it's losing all of them right now, I don't know what's up with it but I'm seriously contemplating using my stihl on it. It never lost leaves like this before, everything is covered in that pink stuff :(
