[PICS] Is this the correct wiper motor for a 1971?
Hello,
While trying to get the wiperdoor to work in harmony with the wiper switch on the BB, I compared the setup to the SB and noticed a few things. It seems this wiper motor assembly has 1 less connector than the one on the 71 SB. I don't have any place to attach the limit switch to this wiper motor.
This motor has the 3 pins where the harness connects to, the 2 pins for the pump, 1 for the ground and thats it. The one on the SB has 1 more pin where the limitswitch plugs into. Am I missing something here?
Are all refurbished motors like this or is this the wrong motor that was installed 3 years ago and thus the reason why the "professional" couldn't figure out where the limit switch connects to?
I really hope I don't have to buy a new one!! :cry
Thank you in advance!
MC

Re: [PICS] Is this the correct wiper motor for a 1971? (BB wowbagger)
Hello,
Thanks for the quick reply!
The BB is far from an NCRS car. I just want the wiper system to work properly without having to use the override to lift the wiperdoor THEN hit the wiper switch.

The wiper motor MUST have the extra lead to work correctly with the door. This is a common problem with the wiper doored cars as places like Autozone sell the motor as correct when it is not.
Here's a pic of the motor with the extra wire:
If you have the wire, then it's some other problem. With the wrong motor, the wipers should try to start as they should but there's no delay. The wipers crash into the door before the door gets out of the way.
