New upper door hinge replacement...question
OK background, new carpet goes in, rain, carpet gets wet, pull carpet back out. Cleck for leaks with water hose and it is leaking around the drivers door at the upper hinge. Feel play in the door at the striker end and it will raise about an half inch or so (play in upper hinge pin and bushings that were laplaced last year). Order new complete hinge, paint hinge and now ready to install.
Do I need to remove the hinge spring before I try to install it? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. :smash:
Thanks,

No you don't have to remove the spring to install the new one. Just have a second person to do the ratching while you hold the door. Be careful not to chip the paint.
