The 68 gas door emblem is made by Trim Parts but available through most wholesale parts dist. places for a lot less.

The 68 emblem riveted to the door, the 69-73 emblem was held in place by two nuts. The 69-73 emblem is cheaper and is exact in most details except for the rivet/nut thing.

When you look at the emblem on the car, the 68 and 69 look identical. When you flip up the lid and look underneath you will see that the 68 is attached with rivets, while the 69 has nuts that screw on. Many 68 vettes have the emblem replaced with 69 style because it is easier to attach with the screw-on nuts. If you use the original 68 style emblem you will have to find a way to attach it with rivets.

The 2 holes in the gas lid are the same also. It's only the 2 sticks (arms? ) that go thru the holes that are different. The 68 emblem has smooth sticks that receive rivets, while the 69 emblem's are threaded, and receive little nuts.
