OT (2) - Got the car home for Dad
I picked up the '56 Ford for my Dad this morning. Drove it the 12 miles home with spongy brakes and no power steering. I called him on my mobile while I was driving it up the road. He was really surprised that I pulled the trigger, but he was also very excited. He will probably come up here this weekend to get started on the tune up and minor repairs needed to get it ready for the 250 mile trip home. He has logged at least 100 hours helping me with my Corvette, so I plan to pay back a few hours working on this one woth him.
I washed the car and polished some of the chrome. Man, there is a TON of stainless and chrome on this car! He's going to spend many hours polishing all the shiny bits!
Here are some pics once it was washed and dried off:

Very nice find. :yesnod:
Was it you who bought a '59 T-Bird to work on? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else.

That car looks absolutely fantastic, make sure you take some pics of your Dad's face when he is sitting in that beauty. As I said on your first post, this is such a great thing to do and a real 'feel good' story, I am glad I opened your post and read it. Good luck with the tune up
