funky noise when i don't use starter fluid.
when i use starter fluid, she starts up fine. When i don't she will crank over for about 2-5 seconds and then it sounds like the start is grinding, like the engine is trying to turn backwards and the starter forwards.

Just jetted down the carb, but she has done this since it started to about October when it started to cool down...I don't have a choke so there have been some hard starts. I am running a Demon 650 mechanical. Timing should be right on the money. It is possible the battery is weak, it is at least 2 years old and only 650 cca. Yes the car sat most of winter.
