What Miscellaneous Items needed for Interior Restoration ?
My interior is completely removed and I need to make a miscellaneous parts list (gaskets/grommets, etc.)
I want to replace all the things I should, but I may be unaware of them. Can you guys help identify the items and where to buy the hard to find or good ones?
Firewall Grommets – 3 or 4?
Heater Ventilation Box gasket?
Any other gaskets?
Rubber push grommets that hold the insulation and carpet in place.
I also may replace my fan blower
Plan on checking all vacuum diaphragms
Thanks for the help
CONFIRMED PARTS LIST
Interior Screw Set (1 pkg)
Firewall Grommets (3 ?)
Heater Ventilation Box gasket (1)
Dash Bulb Set (1 pkg) *
Rubber Plugs for Carpet (As Reqd)
Rubber Plugs for Floorboard (4 ?)
Heater Core **
Blower Motor***
CONFIRMED TO-DO LIST
Check All Vacuum Lines / Diaphragms
Check Lens for scratches
Clean Fuse Box / Check Fuses
* Replacing the bulbs has pros/cons - today's quality vs. old age.
** It still looks good - but I may replace anyway.
*** Replace/Update - there are articles on better blowers

I went ahead and ordered new cushions for the windows and new outer window seals for the door. I got all new lenses for the gauges and lights on the inside of the car. I also replaced all of the rear view mirror hardware.
Geez, this list is gonna be long. I don't have any of these carpet plugs. Bubba had just laid the carpet down in the floor board on mine so I don't know if I have the plugs or not.

Screws!! If memory serves me, the set with all of the screws and fasteners for the interior is cheap. Good insurance for lost ones.

Thanks - My rearview is good. And I will be adding Seat covers/buns and weatherstripping, but wanted to focus more on the dash area. I will edit my original post with items that we confirm are necessary.

I've got my ' 72 in pieces and would like to see this acticle about "better blower motors". Enlighten me, if you would. Now would be a good time to fix my blower motor, correct?

don't know what your putting under your carpets but i used reflectix(home depot). Its double sided foil insulation and made a huge difference in gettin rid of the excessive heat in the interior. And i think it only cost about 20 bucks.

I needed to get a couple of packages of nutplates, I don't know that if that is the correct name. It is the plate for the screw to be driven into. I found them at NAPA. I also needed more screws than the interior kit had. I got a fuse kit, and cleaned the fuseholders and replaced the fuses at the same time.
