my car is misfiring sometimes??
My car has a strange fault
it goes really well but sometimes it just goes bad
feels like it only goes on 2 cylinders ore something.
i have rebuilt the carb new fuel filter, airfilter, points.distributor cap, rotor, wires
i also emptied the tank thinking it was water in there but i still have this fault :mad
was exactly the same before i changed all that!
im gonna go berserk soon :mad
any ideas????

Check to be sure you didn't have a plug wire touch an exhaust manifold. This happened to me years ago. Rebuilt my engine and drove the car to Colorado from the East Coast. West of Denver it wouldn't do over about 50 without breaking up badly - very embarrassing in a fairly new Corvette. Thought I messed up a valve or something. Removed the heads for inspection and everything was perfect. Then I noticed a plug wire with some melted insulation in a place that wasn't easy to see. The wire was arcing out into the exhaust manifold. So, I wound up pulling the heads to find a bad wire. Much easier to just inspect the wires.
