Thanking the board for all the stereo ideas!
Finally finished my installation. 6 disc changer, 700 watts, 6 speakers, 3 subwoofers!
I removed the rear carpet and storage compartment lid. Built a 3" high box out of wood and glass to fit the floor profile. The forward part is flat and has a hinged lid to reach the batter/sorage, the rear angles down to meet the floor at the back. Two speaker boxes angle up at each rear corner housing polk 6 X 9s. In between the boxes is a 600watt 4 channel amp, mounted vertically against the back wall. It drives the polk 6 X 9s and 3 subwoofers mounted into the hinged battery/storage lid. The subwoofers are monted under the lid with only routed slots showing. The 6 disk changer sits forward of the amp, between the 6 X 9s. The whole thing is carpeted to match the interior so the subwoofers are barely noticable and black speaker grills blend in the 6 X 9s to almost perfectly match the carpet.
The head unit (JVC) sits in a vinyl covered fiberglass plate on the modified guage console. It drives 2 4 X 6s in the kick panels with separate tweeters on the dash cap. It also drives 2 pioneer box speakers in the back. Their final location has yet to be determined.
Now I'm just trying to diguise the changer and amp in the back.
Thanks to the board, all the ideas came from here!
