I leave them on mine occasionally. I just make sure I drive saner. They aren't bad until you get crossed up. Then the car just doesn't respond correctly. I got a little out of shape once with them on the front, swaybar off and lots of air still in front tires. Road was a little sandy from nearby construction and it just didn't want to get straightened out. The pucker factor was high!
Overall, they can be used, just don't go corner burning with them. I usually just change them if I know it will be a while before I go back to track.
I say that....they're still on mine right now and I haven't been to track since December!!

I might go with the adjustable ones.... 90/10 for the track and 60/40 for the street...
