Default new (to me) wheels

My neighbor just bought a 63 roadster with these cool 17 inch american racing wheels. He wanted to go back stock so I bought them off him cheap. There 17 X 8's with michelin tires. The tires are only 215/60 but if I can sell my old wheels I might have enough $$ to get some wider tread tires. But I must admit they do like nice. I apologize for the pictures my camera seems to be showing its age. And for icing on the cake my car passes emmisions today with a total of 58 HC and 0.00 CO (yes 0.00 who'd a thunk it).

you can't click the links to show the pics like that because there's a space in the url. If there's one, substitute is with %20 and it will show (that wya the url doesn't get interrupted)

I'll have to post in a few months to see what tires I can run on those 17 rims.

I'm not sure what they are on my new wheels. I think they are 17 X 8 with 4 inch backspacing. I've been too busy driving it to take one back off and verify.
If your talking my old wheels they are 15 X 8 with I think 4 inch backspacing too. The tires are almost new 225/70 v rated firestones.

Hey TTop Tony I just had my stock '74 emissions tested (w/o cat's of course) as well and it read 64ppm and 1.4% CO, I guess it shows that these old cars when tuned can be pretty "clean" ... do you run a high-flow cat or stock exhaust? Just curious it the "cat" makes much of a difference :chevy

Your right I agree totally. Its all in the tuning. I have true duals with dual high flow cats. My stock q-jet was rebuilt by a guy with one of those huge snap on machines. It runs great and also gets good gas mileage. Can't realy beat that.

Actually somebody local has asked about them too. If the deal falls through I'll let you know but I would really like to get away from shipping 4 wheels. Thats why I was going to stick them in the local paper. the shipping would cost as much as I'm asking for the wheels ($300)
