Off idle hesitation completely fixed
Wanted to post this in case any one else ever has this problem. When I would push the gas pedal in my '82 ever so slightly, the engine would start running rough and would hesitate until about 1200 rpm. If I were to let off the gas during this hesitation the car would almost shut off. This was easily avoided as the gas was rarely pushed 'ever so slightly', but remained as an irritant.
I read so much on here and on the crossfire injection vault about the possible causes of the off-idle hesitation some of us have experienced. Then I went outside and pulled the vacum line off the EGR valve, and the car ran perfect with no hesitation. The diagphram would not hold a vacum at all. I put a new Delco valve on today ($67, and it holds a vacum), hooked the line up, and the car runs perfect with no hesitation.

No pollution stuff here but I do have an off idle hesitation. Glad you got yours fixed. Hope to get mine straightened out also. Wish me luck.
