Summer Project Suggestions
Hi Everyone,
Haven't been around in a while, but summer's rolling around again, and it's time for another project... :D and I've found myself faced with the eternal question... what parts to transform my $$$ into. I could think of no better group to look to for suggestions. I'm probably staying away from engine mods and frame-off for the time being. Looking to spend around $4000. Feel free to let fly with any ideas, but the following are things I have in mind, in no particular order.
1. 700R4 - Lokar Shifter - Electronic Speedo
2. Front & Rear Suspension - Monospring or Coilover
3. Brakes - Parking - Calipers & Slotted Rotors - Hydraulic Booster -
New 18" Wheels & Tires
4. Fiberglass Bumpers - Electronic Headlight Actuators -
Vertical Door Hinge Mod. (Am I nuts?) -
Flush Gasoline Door (Cable Release) - New Paint
5. Rip out the interior again and do some new radical modifications...
Let 'em fly...

If your interior is in liveable shape, I would probably go for the OD tranny first. With the money you have left over I would give the brakes a once over. If the interior is rough I would do the interior, then do the brakes. I like good brakes. It has something to do with enjoying the ride and being able to bring the car home in one piece. Always a good thing.

With $4k you can do the whole suspension (VBP Performance+ kit?), poly bushings for whatever the kit doesn't cover, Van Steel-ify your T/As (or get new ones, offset), and redo your stock brakes while you're at it. Spending more on semi-coilovers for the front would be a waste in my opinion, and a rear set isn't available. The springs in the Performance plus system give you ride height and spring rate adjustability. Weighs less too.
17/18" wheels/tires would go perfectly with that suspension, and you might be able to slide that in at the $4k mark, but it'd depend on your choice of wheels. The peace of mind with the new brake parts and trailing arms is a great thing, you can always get wheels later.

Re: Summer Project Suggestions (Viken)
Well, I don't exactly intend to do them all in the next few months. I was thinking like a few.
