Default rag joint replace

almost 32 years old



new one from Zip



i don't think the old one was giving me too much play, but i'm glad i'm replacing it. the thing fell apart in my hands!

Don't forget to remove the red tabs, they are for positioning only. I've seen people running around with those still in place :crazy:

I am curious. In the picture of your original flexible coupling, where did the bolt at 12 o'clock come from? I hope that it didn't come from the hole torn in the coupling. If you look closely at the new flex coupling. The two bolts that have the keepers on them, are actually shoulder bolts. When you tighten them to the column flange, they will clamp metal to metal for a secure connection. A bolt as shown in your photo, will just clamp on the rubber and the rubber will relax with time and the connection can come apart.
