Default New '81 owner!

It's not me, but one of the guys I work with. It was on E-bay and right down the road from where he lives so he looked at it and won the bid. Been sitting for four years, all original with every option imaginable, and after checking it out with him today it looks great. Black on black with mirror tops, original paint that looks good and 68K on the clock. Probably the most unmolested (although undermaintained) vette I've seen in a while with only a replacement alternator. Appears to have lived in a garage most of it's life. Has a heating problem, but it appears to be minor.

He'll be registering soon so give him a big forum welcome!

If it's been sitting that long, make sure yall check out the brake calipers... I'm sure they're leaking, just like on my 81 after I pulled it out of a 5 year hibernation...

Don't forget the wheel bearings and u-joints, steering components, and suspension. 5 years is a long time to be sitting idle. Sounds like a good find though. We'll welcome him of course, but, we got to have photos. We love photos :yesnod:

It's the twin to this black one (although not as clean!). I took a couple of shots yesterday and I'll post 'em tonight. Yes it does have a leaking caliper (RF) and it looks like it's been that way a while. First C-3 I've seen recently that has an e-brake that actually works! He'll join up pretty quick...
