Re: Wiring Harness who did you use (Pat71vette)
I just bought an engine and a/c harness from Lectric Limited. Fast shipping, good price and a good product. Here's the site

I bought my dash harness and rear light harness from The Last Detail. They had the cheapest price and they came direct from Lectric Limited.

I used Lectric Limited and was very pleased. I replaced the entire car (dash, front, rear and engine) harnesses. They all fit perfect and worked without a hitch. Pricing was reasonable. Good luck.

Are we talking about exact reproduction harnesses or more modern universal type. I am considering a universal Painless harness that uses the through bulkhead connector. It is about $400 and has 18 circuits with blade type fuses. I plan on ripping out everything and completely re-wiring the car from scratch.

That's what I am probably going to do, I sat down with my original harness and with all the wiring for the injection system and all it will be a major pita trimming the harness down or I'd have to leave off a bunch of stuff and tape off the connectors (yuck). I will most likely get a universal one also and relocate the fuse box at the same time.

Good thread :)

I am killing myself trying to find the best and easiest solution to clean up my wiring system and had a friend tell me my best bet at this point is to get a used engine harness out of a donor 92 somewhere and just adapt to that and keep my existing 77 body harness in place.
I am just out of ideas :banghead:

I modified the stock 99 Camaro harness to fit the car. The engine harness wiring is pretty neat right now. The Painless harness will allow me to re wire the rest of the car and get rid of the fuse block I used for the engine harness.
What painless told you is sorta true. Each year the PCM was sired a little bit differently. To make a universal FI harness, they had to pick a year and style and have you use that computer.
In your case, I would either modify a harness from a donor car. It really isn't that hard.
