What does a 78 windshield cost? Brain fart mistake.....accident.
While hooking up the power to the ignition today, I guess the windshield wiper switch was on. This was a bad mistake. I had the hood supported by a adjustable pipe to allow the garage door to open while the vette was on jack stands. Before I could do anything the wipers nailed the pipe and the hood slammed the pipe into the windshield. It is bad... I think there is at least 12 cracks running from top to bottom. :mad Crude......... :( :( :(

Should be the same or close to what I paid for my 71. $100 for glass $60 labor. Might be a little higher in your location.
By the way, I would take a sledge hammer to both of my windshields to have that engine of yours in either of my vettes!!! DANG that is sweet!!!!

D'oh!! Well, at least now you'll have a nice clear windshield to see out of. Mine is pretty nasty with 35 years of wiper haze but I don't want to have to replace it just yet.
Maybe your insurance glass coverage has zero deductable?? I know that when I lived in Mass, all windshield replacements were that way. (I had 3 replaced in one year once...) Since I moved to Michigan, they're $100.
