"Cars in Barns" Story from tonight
Went with my neighbor to pick up some horse manure. Apparently his wife convinced my wife it's what they need for flowers & stuff.
Anyhow, we go to this local 'farm'. Basically an old farm owned by a widowed woman in her 60s. 3 horses, Huge barn and several other buildings. Neat place and she's thrilled to show us around.
"And for some fun, look what I have in here..." so my neighbor says..."what have you got, a winery?" "even better"
She opens the door and I see the unmistakable shape of a midyear vette hidden under some sheets! Black and shiny. I pull back a sheet until I see the gills. "65 or 66?" "65" Coupe, black on black, 327, 4 speed, sidepipes, air conditioning, simply gorgeous. Not an NCRS candidate by any means, but still a beautiful car. And she drives it regularly from the sound of it. It's her 3rd or 4th vette, dating back to the 60s.

Why didn't you have your camera. We need pictures.
That was a great find.
That was a great find.
She had a friend tell her that she needed to sell the car to buy a new stove and paint the house. I told her I'd buy the car AND buy her a new stove!

Sounds like a load of :auto: .
Sorry couldn't resist. You know, there is one in every crowd. I am beginning to really like the mid years more and more. That one sounds like it would make a great candidate for anyones garage. Good for her for getting it out and driving it. Go Granny, Go Granny, Go Granny Go!

Cool story indeed. Isn't it amazing where you find old Corvettes stashed? I'm sure you will be keeping tabs on that one.

At least she drives it and doesn't just let it rot away amongst the horse manure.
Let me guess, "She's the little old lady from Pinckney, Michigan...." (sung along to the Beach Boys tune).
