Will cutting the a/c belt affect other belts?
I have P/S, A/C, Air Pump(belt already removed) and alternator(obviously).
I disconnected my A/C belt the easy way (knife). It kept screeching and I decided to nix it... I first attempted to loosen the P/S belt without avail... How much play should be in this belt? I hope I don't have to reconnect an A/C belt...

i have removed my a/c. That leaves one belt (the alt belt) turning the fan and water pump. The fan requires a LOT of torque to turn on the highway when its hot. The alt belt starts slipping around 3500 rpm because it just can't handle the torque.

Yeah. My dad says that one of the belts is what's screeching. I'm gonna limp the car around tomorrow and replace all the belts. Hopefully that'll leave me as good as new until I can afford electric fans!
