Default Vette Brakes Bump Steer kit question

Hi All,

Does anyone have a picture of their installed VB front bump steer kit? Does it install above the steering arm or below. I need to know before I order it whether it'll clear my wheels.

Below, the tie rod needs to be lowered to lessen bump steer. Note, I haven't used the kit or seen it installed, but I know that it does need to be moved downwards.

Mike P, The bump steer block is bolted to the bottom of the steering arm (through the two tie rod holes) and the tie rod is attached underneath the block..

The disadvantage of the kit is the steering radius is increased. Since the new tie rod location is between the 2 holes the steering arm is lengthened creating a greater turning radius.

Yeh, what Norval said, we have discussed many a bumped stear over the years..... :D

but the car will still have a narrower radius than an earlier C4, maybe all of them....so no great loss there....

TT, Guldstrand has been selling this piece a lot longer than VBP has been in business so that would make it a copy BUT I believe the original idea came from the engineers at Chevrolet so I guess that would make Guldstrand`s a copy also.

ain't that cute, so it's a gm idea... instead of actually doing something about it they just sell a clumsy sandwich block thingie to clamp on your steering arms, they should have changed the design. Sometimes I hate how GM does theur stuff. Surely in the 19 years of production they could have changed it....lame gold diggers

TT, I believe it was designed FOR RACING NOT to correct a problem with street cars..The "design" of our cars is/was a compromise.

PS: "they" (GM) could of (and should of) changed the poorly designed brake caliper also but NEVER DID!!

All cars have the problem and it would be simple for them to fix. This is another picture of my cheap solution. :beatdeadhorse:

If it is cheap and works then it is a smart solution.
