I wonder how many miles you're supposed to have on a lawn tractor engine before making the switch. I have 2 summers of mowing on mine and switched it over last weekend :thumbs:

Me too. Mine runs fine with no oil burning. That reminds me I need to change it. Lawn tractor also needs it.

My old man has a 96 ford. He has over 300,000 miles with the same engine, no overhaul or any engine work. He uses mobile 1!

I had Mobil One put in my new engine from the outset, and after a semi-docile initial 500 miles (125,000 miles ago), I began driving hard - again.

Never had a problem.

But, changed to Delo 400 diesel oil about 15K ago, since it has better lubricity rating than synthetic and is cheaper and gives just as long change life.
