Do all the replacement console plates (and parts) fit this bad? I have been putting the parts on this one and have had to modify it for every peice. The Window switches were tight. The shifter boot holes did not line up. My new ashtray door did not fit the old or new plate and would not sit flat when closed. I ended up repairing and painting the old one and filing the plate so it could open all the way. The spacers for the defroster were too tall and needed to be modifed. The heater controller lens (a GM Part) does not fit right anywhere. The ears broke in the same place as the old one and you can see light through the plate lens at the bottom through the lens. I hope this fits better in the car. Are there better plates out there are they all the same crap? :banghead: :nonod:
