Default Anyone Using Aftermarket Trim Rings

Just ordered a set and was wondering what you thought about the quality and look of the aftermarket sets. I plan on changing wheels someday but for now these will look just fine.

I think aftermarket rings is just fine unless you want to spend too much money on the good ones. I actually have some trim rings off some old chrysler on one of my Chevelles and they look fine-- in fact here is a pic of that clunker

I bought mine from Eckler's and although the attachment brackets are not "correct" they look wonderful. I am very happy with them.

A few years ago I bought a set of aftermarket trim rings and they had a yellowish tint .
Noticeable when parked next to another vette with 4 clip trim rings.
Over the winter I bought a set of the better quality 4 clip trim rings on EBay.

I bought a set at a swap meet, There are 2 flavors, stainless (yellowish) and chrome. They have diaphragm type fingers instead of 4 clips but seem to be lasting very well.

The upside to this is the elimination of strange squeaks and clicks while rolling, although you can tell that they are not original because of the missing ridge on the corner if you know what I'm talking about.

Here they are on my Impala.

I have aftermarket also. I think they look great and are much less hassle to remove/install.

I ordered the stainless aftermarket trim rings. They fit better (snug against the rim), and I like the look of them better, without that flat 'lip' at the edge. I have the dinged up originals in the attic.

I ordered mine earlier this week and they are already here. Man that was fast!!! They do look a whole lot better than what I had. Original style replacements was out($$$$) these were $60. They will look great on my car. Now when is that thing coming home?

:iagree: I have the Stainless Steel aftermarket (Taiwan) rings from Corvette Central. I bought them to get rid of the squeeking and rubbing noise the old four clip set generated. I still have the original rings, in near perfect shape, but choose not to use them because of the noise...
