Bubba's Top Ten
Bubba’s Top Ten
1. Bolts with NC threads may be effectively forced into NF threads
2. Slotted head wood screws are a good alternative to automotive Phillips screws and other similar hardware
3. Large amounts fiberglass body filler and pop rivets can fix any body problem
4. Mud and grease is an effective protection against underbody rust.
5. C3 vacuum headlight operator problems can be easily repaired by removing spring operators
6. Install bolt-on speed shop equipment before fixing failing brakes, sagging springs, peeling paint and holes in the tail pipes
7. Performance re-jet the carburetor and change timing to turn plugs black in 50 miles
8. Bigger tires are better. Learn to ignore those rubbing sounds.
9. Bolts may be left out at your disgression. The C3 uses far too many bolts anyway.
10. Off road driving is an excellent way to verify frame cross member strength.
Any more?

Here is another,
11. If the bolts are too long, use a stack of washers or whatever means to make the length work. Example: On my front bumpers, the bolts were too long and bubba added washers on one side of the car, and on the other side he used a lug nut and some washers to make it work. :smash:

13. If you've misplaced a bolt, just fire up the welder.
My steeroids kit has been sitting around for a while because the previous owner welded one of the original P/S brackets on rather than go to the store and get a couple bolts.

When an electrical connection must be made, twisting the wires together and adding some electrical tape for protection is a safe and practical solution.

14-Stereos can be laid on the carpet and the speakers and wires can also just lay either on the dash or on top of the carpet. Its OK.
15-Coat hangers make a great turn signal linkage. Ive seen that one!!

16. Overspray on body trim adds character and distinctiveness to your ride. Masking is overrated.
17. Washers and lockwashers need not be reinstalled in the event that a bolt is actually replaced after removal.

19. Mounting plate for rear end cracks in half, weld the pieces on top of one another and then grind the stub axles down when they smack the battery box. :skep:

The way to make a small fortune on your Bubba Corvette is to start with a very large one.

When water leak is detected, Silicone and epoxy every seam and crack in the wiper cowl area(with about 12 tubes of silicone and epoxy). After that does not alleviate the problem, remove windshield trim (crack widshield in the process) and discover bird cage is no longer there(eaten away by rust demons)... continue with 15 more tubes of silicone and epoxy, fill the rail completely, Duct tape over the silicon, replacement of trim is optional now that the clips are gone.. after all, they came off with the trim!!

Make plates out of flexible plastic for your aftermarket speakers. This must be designed so the speakers and plate fall out when crossing railroad tracks or upon hard braking. Non matching carpet it optional.
Hook up your speakers with 10 ga wire attached to a 24 ga (or smaller) wire from the radio. Each wire should have at least 4 splices to avoid another trip to circut city. :yesnod:

Re: Bubba's Top Ten (Torcher)
Expanding crack filler foam would have been Bubba's first choice for rust repair; however it was a long way to Home Depot.

Decided to take out A/C, and heater box, had to have SOMETHING to cover up the hole.
P.S. Check out the "custom" radiator supports :smash:
