Default Shield under the Intake Manifold

Any suggestions on attaching the shield under the intake manifold after cleaning it? I've sandblasted the manifold and have been told there may be a lot of sludge collected inside that shield.

Yea, remove the oil splash shield, it's there to prevent oil cooking to your exhaust crossover and retain any oily crud. Just remove the rivets and tap the holes for the appropriate size machine screws. A bit of loc-tite on the threads and it'll be good to go after cleaning up. This cleaning is especially important after beadblasting the intake, there will be a boatload of beads there
