auto to manual swap, clutch bracket location needed.
Hello all,
I am nearing the point where I will need to weld the clutch bracket to the frame, and i wanted to know if anybody had a sketch, or a location for the bracket? This is on a '76 frame.
Thanks,
Matt

Matt,
I did the auto to manual conversion on my '73. I didn't have any diagrams, just a piece of angle iron I cut a notch out of to seat the z-bar bolt. The critical thing is to have the engine, tranny and cross-member all hooked up and tightened, before doing your measuring and marking. This will ensure that the engine is at the proper angle. Then, just line up the z-bar straight out of the stud on the block to the frame, mark and weld the brace or angle iron. Good luck. Driving a vette with an automatic is like going to the bathroom then wetting your pants.
