Do you associate the C3 vette with any celebrity/movie?
Can you relate the C3 vette (or any vehicle) to any celebrity or movie that either totally attracts you to the car or turns you off to the car (hopefully not to the C3). I can't think of anything related to the C3 except maybe the recent beer commercials with the "Brad" jerk driving a C3. But for other cars:
1.) '67-'68 fastback mustang - Steve McQueen in "Bullitt". A very cool movie then, a very cool movie now. How I want a '67 Mustang.
2.) Mid/Late 70's Firebird/Trans Am - Burt Reynolds in "Smokey and the Bandit". A very cool movie then, kind of embarassing and aged now. Turned me off to that generation of Camaro's/Firebirds/Trans Ams forever. I just can't get out of my mind a silly looking pretty-boy Reynolds in a cowboy hat and that 70's mustache.
3.) Fox style 80's Mustangs - Vanilla Ice comes to mind whenever I see that car, him singing "Ice Ice Baby" in that very very bad MTV video, singing about riding in his "five-oh". Needless to say, I will never own a fox style 5.0 mustang as long as I live.
4.) Humvee's - Arnold S. of course! Always cool. I wouldn't own one, but I still like them.
...can you tell I'm bored?

How about "Eleanor" in Gone in 60 Seconds? I would love a 'Stand just like her.
I kind of dug a car in "The Fast and Furious"...no not the "buzzy" cars, but the '67 Charger with blower. When tough guy, macho man Vin Dieselt states that "he never drives it because he's afaraid of it", makes a statement to all of the lawn mower engine crowd!
For TV shows, Miami Vice always had the coolest cars; though too many to name one in particualr.

How could you forget the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazard or the Grand Torino from Starsky and Hutch?

My old '75 convertible. MGM rented it from me for an episode of "In the Heat of the Night" with Carrol O'Conner. I have the episode on tape. :D

The biographical movie about Hank Williams Jr starring Richard Thomas. I believe the car was a 72 and I think it was Ontario Orange (or whatever that burnt orange color was). I don't even remember whether it was a Ttop or conv.

"The Wraith"..early 80's movie..first fast and furious. Packard...the pack leader drove a vette, killed (charlie sheen's character). Charlie Sheen came back as a "wraith" with a wicked dodge concept car and killed Packard and his whole crew..the road pirates..kewl cult movie back in the early 80's. Got it on DVD and got the Soundtrack which is sweet!

How about Apollo 13? There were many C-3's in that movie.
Oh, by the way, there was an awesume '67 C-2 in Gone in 60 Seconds. You know, the red one with a black stinger hood. To bad they only showed it for all of 3 seconds.

Looks like there may be a C3 convert in an upcoming Jessica Simpson video. Check it out: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=802613

I don't recall any other c3s in movies, but I do remeber a black c2 with those vaned rims on a short lived TV show called "Stingray". Ray was the main character.
The other star car I loved is the early '50's Merc in Stallones "Cobra". I would love to own all the star cars in "American Graffiti", where it all began... :smiliedrool:

NO I bought the car because it was a good deal and made of fiberglass. NOthing I hate worst then rust and body work.
I would prefer a unibody camaro if it didn't rust so I could tub it and install a roll cage. My mustang has a good cage, frame connectors, a good solid rearend and 4 link.
The mustang never sees snow or rain so the body should stay good for many many years.
