Re: "merlin"on ebay again (Twin_Turbo)
You have got to wonder what is wrong with Merlin since her 2 owners want to get rid of her? If it was in canadian dollars I would think seriously.
Like most creations they have growing pains and someone needs to take the time and sort them out. Anything can be fixed.

Dang! Has me drooling...If I had nothing else to do with my money, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Does anyone know what the REAL status of this beast is? If it drove fine with no mechanical problems, it would be seriously tempting...I bet you could sell the engine alone for the reserve price if it worked and you could find the right buyer.

he was called panamayellow65, and he's selling his panama yellow C2 according to the text )altho it's not in one of his auctions)
Kind of a shame that the grossly overdone engine actually is the part that destroys the car, as cool as it looks.

Steve, sent me or I got them off Steve's site a bunch of videos. the one's of the intitial firing, tuning it up, and out driving.
As I understand it. The car was never refined enough for street driving. The hooser's doing the injection mapping never knew enough about EFI to set it correctly. So it only ran semi right. The cooling was never figured out. So you could never drive it long enough to really test anything. Something like 2 minutes of driving time from the time you start it to maxed out temp.
The TQ was so big that it would light up the tires and it would have blown the ROD 6 speed tranny if you really ever did get the motor running right.
So it was all show and no go unless you pour more money into it.

Man, I'd love to get some of those pictures of the buildup. Steve, any chance you are lurking and would be willing to share them? Could anyone else share what they have?
There are a ton of folks that have the twin whipple setup on their boats, so it can't be that hard to find someone who could make that machine streetable.
Gkull - we will need photos before we can make you any offers...

Kinda wierd. Merlin was listed on Ebay for 1 day last week, then the ad was pulled. Mystical magical forces are at work here. The thing is haunted :skep:

Maybe it's just me. I wouldn't take two of these cars for a 1963 SWC, fuel injected, four speed. Personal taste I guess. I like them stock.
