A better look at my 68 pannel on a 82 clip.
It was a lot harder than you think to graft it on there.
I need a fillerpanel and I will be done with it.
What do you guys and gals think?

It's kind of hard to tell how it looks with the straight on shot. Take a picture at an angle to the rear and it will stand out better. Looks good so far.

Not bad at all ... and no-one is beating you to death about a Firebird wing.
Obviously, there is a little smoothing and rounding to be done.
Personally, I would take some of the 'edge' off the trailing edge ...
more round like the older vettes.
It's gonna look great !!

At the moment it kinda hurts my eyes, but with a smooth sanding and a fresh pant job I bet it will be sweet. I have always wondered what my 77 would look like with a late 60's early 70's rear clip.
Definitely post some more pics when you are completely finished.

I like it better than a lot of aftermarket stuff but what on earth did you do with the fiberglass?? It looks like the paint was not removed and the glass looks like mud in the pics. Is it full of air bubbles? Did you use resin suited for SMC (since you have an 82??) do you have a roller to remove air bubbles? Or is it just the picture?

yes, t is much better than the flat panel that used to be on it. Just asking what he used and how he did the glass work. Not to be an **** but that looks like some crappy glass work.

what is dura glass??
Are you using rollers to remove air bubbles?? Do you have some kind of fiberglass instruction manual? I advice you to work on carefully ground off surfaces, no paint, no filler. When the glass has cured (use several layers, at least 4) sand off the glossy layer and under it should be a consisten surface with no pin holes in it. Use as much glass as you can to get the contours & build up the shape. The less filler the better. Filler chips easy if you use it in thick layers. I only use a very thing skim coat of filler after carefully building up and sanding down the new glass just below body contour. It's a lot of nasty work but the only way to get a reliable non cracking surface. Did you take into account that your body clip is SMC and you need special resins, normal polyester resins don't stick and epoxy doesn't have styrene in it so the bonding agent in crushed fibers doesn't dissolve, the fibers will float around in the bonding matrix without being part of it, no adhesion. The fibers can easily be pulled out and will when you sand it down.
