Radiator Expansion Tank Question on 69 BB.
I saw a post on this one time before but can't remember what the deal is.
First off I'm not having an over heating problem at all and to the best of my knowledge I have my cooling system configured correctly as far as hose routing is concerned. I have a standard expansion tank in place. My problem is when I first start the car when its cold it always blows just a little anti-freeze out of the over flow tube on the expansion tank everytime. Once the car is running its fine. I can let the car cool down and start it again when its motor has cooled down and it does not do it. I have a 16lb cap on the expansion tank and I have made sure the upper radiator hose is installed so that it is at least the same hieght as the expansion tank or a little lower. I plumbed the expasion tank like it shows in the AIM manaul but maybe I'm still doing something wrong. Any ideas? Do I need a heavy lb cap on the tank?
