The "Chevrolet Corvette Restoration Guide", by Lindsay Porter, has a section (page 54-57) on windshield rust repair. ISBN 0-7603-0325-8
The Corvette FAQ might also help.

Well, I can probably help with some tips, but pictures are almost required
to assess the damage. Search the archives for my older posts 1-2 years back.
I replace dthe upper half of teh WS frame with a donor vehicle. I also needed
to fill some rot holes in the lower corners.
I'm guessing the front fenders are still on ... likely hiding more rust that you
are bargaining for.
Here's a thread before it got painted up ..... and check my website for lots
of before and a few after pictures. The 75 was the donor for the top half.

I agree with dave, there's probably more nasty stuff under the glass, especially under the winshield and pillars, moisture likes to collect there. YOu will most likely end up removing the front clip and firewall to replace all the bad sections.

I fabricated pieces, welded them in and ground down to a flush surface. Painted them with POR15 afterwards. I have a set of corner and a top rail if needed. I'll sell them for what I paid, which I'll have to look up and see.let me know,

I agree with dave about the hidden rust!
Take a very close look at your door pillars, they are probably well on the way to disintegration.....
I like Dave am in the process of repairing the damage. I replaced the door pillars and windshield frame this winter..... I did do it with the front clip still attached to the firewall and floorpan......... it is doable but looking back at it I'd tear the front clip off as my fender alignment is off a bit( enough that I'll probably have to break the bonds anyways)

replace it.....thats what I'm doing this summer with mine.....though many people say just toss the car and get a new one, I say no because I am building my car from the ground up! It will be new again in a couple years to completion, though you just may need a new windshield frame and not a whole new frame like myself
