Gettin' her up to snuff. . .
I just spent the weekend with the vette.
details, details. :D
I first replaced the chrome waterneck. It was an old one and was leaking.
After taking it off, I noticed it seemed a little warped.
So rather than get a new gasket, I bought a new one that had an o-ring.
No more leakage. :yesnod:
Washed the engine compartment last week. It needs more, but; I only have so much time. :( I'll do more later this spring / summer.
Today I detailed the outside. Started with washing that 20 year old car cover that I got with it. Whew, they collect the dust over that amount of time.
Then I washed and waxed her. Took several hours to remove all of the old wax from all of the seams and emblems left from the previous owner.
Putty knives and rags are wonderful things.
Used a tooth brush on all the emblems and side marker lights, etc. to get the old wax off.
It was amazing how much leftover wax was there and under the spoilers and in all the seams. Sheez!
I love this thing!!!
