Default OT: Customer dropped his Street Rod off at the shop...

It's a '39 Buick coupe that's been chopped, cut and streched 8in wide, lowered, shaved door handles, suicide doors, and F.I. . Nice car, but I would have done a better job on the engine, interior, and suspension, it has rear drums for god sakes.

Beautiful exterior without a doubt. :yesnod:

Yea definetly had more potential that what the owner did with it. I think that car would look sick with 17" fronts and 18" rears. Lowered a little more in the rear. I would definetly do something about the dash. Other wise its a pretty sweet ride.

so are you out joyriding? :jester

Looks nice! Doors appear to be on backwards, tho...

In all fairness to the owner, I have heard it is very easy to get upsidedown inside out and spend a ton of money on a custom car, especially if you are paying to have work done. for example, what are you doing for him?

$$$ can get out of hand EASILY. My dad build/restores classic cars on the side. We do it for close firends, friends of friends, but not for the general public. He's finishing up his '39 Buick special (4door), along with a Dr.'s '67 GTO convertible. It's a long process, the last car he built made the Snap-On calender and toor him 4 years to do.

The owner of this car states the car is running hot and the hydraboost is acting up. I suggested a Becool rad, and high flow water pump (has 3 cooling fans). I'll be doing that wile my dad does the brakes most likely.

When you do your own work it's a hell of a lot cheaper than paying $50/hr which adds up pretty quickly.

Looks like it was built in the 80s. Not bad though, IMHO. I like fat fenders.

I would probably put a few louvers along the side and top of the hood to move some hot air and try to plumb a cold air intake down the edge of the radiator. A little suspension work and some 17s-18s would really set it off nice too.

Brent...

I like it, but $50,000? I hope there's a twenty thousand dollar bill under the seat.

I like the car, hate the wheels, ugly engine (mismatched colors, dirty, rusty master cylinder) and the flannel interior doesn;t do it for me either.

In the owner's defense the reason for the rusty rad and engine compartment is do to overheating. He has no overflow tank so everything spils all over the place.

Those big things sticking out the sides must be the air brakes.
