in tank fuel pump
Anyone ever installed a in tank pump for fuel injection. Mine requires 34-47 psi. I was thinking of connecting it to the tube on the factory pickup. Any suggestions?

yes thats what i did ,i installed a 89 corvette pump on the end of the stock sending unit and it works fine, ive gone to down as low as 1-2 gallons and no fuel pickup trouble, but with your motor if you had low fuel and hard launchs im sure itll starve.you would have to have abaffle made around it or a sump installed on your factory tank.

Re: in tank fuel pump (502RamjetVette)
I've been thinking about doing it with mine. My engine will be Carbed so I am figuring on using a pump out of a TBI truck( 20PSI) but you could probably find a high pressure pump out of a camaro/ or later model truck and modify your fuel pickup/ sender unit to work with it.
The main concern with that is the flex lines that mate with the lines coming out of the tank. i'd see how they do them on the higher pressure pumps. I know my TBI truck only has rubber lines with hose clamps but again it is only 20PSI.
I really like this idea because of the longer life of the submerged pumps. If you require more flow you could always put another pump in to increase output.

Re: in tank fuel pump (MikeC)
I've already replaced those lines with high pressure fuel injection lines. I'm using the stock 3/8" to the engine with the other as the return. I did away with the line for the canister.

i run 38-42lbs of fuel pressure and i ran the wires up through the top of the tank and insulated them.I attached it to the sending unit with a piece of fuel inejction hose and clamps.
