How much resistance in spark plug wires?
My car won't start again and all it did was sit for a few months with the battery disconnected :cry :cry . Just for kicks I measured the resistance on a few spark plug wires and I got readings ranging from 8k to 14k ohms. Is that too much  Apparently it's not too much resistance to light the timing light, but is it too much to get a good spark in the cylinder? In case it matters, they're Belden Premium 8mm High Temp wires.
Thanks,
Matt

The fact that your timing light flashes proves that current is flowing and your plug has fired.
Best look somewhere else. Got gas?

Yes that resistance sounds way to high for good wires. Even my cheap'o after market 7.5mm spiral wound silcone wires were all less than 200 ohms. Dr. Jacobs says for capacitive ig. should have less than 1,000 ohms/ft. But stock wires?
Drag your ohm meter to a parts store and measure a brandy new wire or two. :yesnod:
