Rear Hops whn hitting bumps 1976
Finally got my dream bought a 76 survivor, this is my first. The car doesn't need a lot of work but when hitting a bump the rear wants to hop on me. I am replacing the shocks today. The car has 80,000 on it, what other things can cause this?

Welcome to corvette ownership! The thing with shocks for a C3 is the free length, I think it's 14.250" or 14.500" longer then this and you could have a binding problem with the 1/2 shaft in extreme movement. Bair's offers a great video on checking these cars and covers this too. It might be worth the investment since you're new to these cars.
Also check the rear suspension for wear. Look at the rear spring mounts on the rear end cover. It's possible you have a broken mount ear in the cover. If all looks well see how the new shocks work on a road test.
