Default Big block - big sound - big smile !

Okay guys, it's Friday and I'm in one of those top-of-the-world I have the best car moods !!! :jester

Ever since I started running straight pipes, I'm now finding myself planning the next joy ride as if I was a little kid going back to Six Flags !

Wednesday I drove to the video store (top down - 65+ degrees)
Last night I drove to the grocery store.
Tonight I'm going to a car gathering......

Mundane errands are now fun !......"Honey, are you sure you don't need me to go anywhere else for ya ?"

Anyways.....my Big Block now sounds like a Big Block and I have a Big :D

.....and I don't care if it's an extension of some part of my body - drive one and you'll never go back !

I understand completely!! What kind of exhaust do you have? Are you the one that posted a few weeks back that has a short turndown system?

Do you mean this ? ---> http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=795174

Actually, the next thing is installing "turndowns" before my lower valence turns black ! :bb

The exhaust are Flowtech Warlock mufflers (by Holley) and have removeable plugs for drag use (or big block use) :reddevil

No, someone posted picks of a really good turndown system. However, those warlocks sound really good. Would they fit under the car for a turndown system? What part number did you use? I see several options. I really like that sound and would love get a similar setup.

I think it's the 50552's........ http://store.summitracing.com/partde...rt=BIG%2D50552

Also, I just learned that there are 'bolt-on' turndowns for this system.
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...rt=BIG%2D10410 - part #10410

I think it's just plain  when you bolt & un-bolt things......make it loud, etc. Too bad they haven't made interchangeable exhaust tips yet !

Those are just cooool!!! I need a pair of those. My only problem is that I'd be tempted to have those things unplugged all of the time.

Do you think that they would fit under the car just past the cross member, then the turndowns directly coming from the muffler (so the exhaust will exit past any passenger windows which is law) or would they drag to bad?

Man, I gotta get a set of those!!!!

I am planning for a new exhaust system, and think I want cutouts (might as well, right? :) ). Those mufflers might be a nice alternative, and the turndowns take care of the only drawback. Any other considerations? MJ

Chambered exhaust ?.....Summit has 'em by Stainless Works.

Also, I discovered another drawback.......smokey !
This past Friday at around 11pm I was reving through the gears when a motorcycle cop zooms up beside me. By this time I was stopped at a traffic light and he shouts to me, "Hey, do you wanna do that again so I can write you a ticket ?"
Of course I answer back politely......"No sir."

I only got a warning but I now know not to rev my car in traffic around that part of town.

verskel The sound can certainly make the trip that much more exciting. :yesnod:

Andrew You may be referring to a post I had a while back, if such is the case, thanks for the compliment. I will say that the turndown such as mine while wickedly loud and raspy, tends to turn the cabin into a resonance chamber...

I have since re-done this setup and it now exits right in front of the rear tires, it comes out nearly flush to the rocker panel and has a 45 degree backcut. Pics to follow once its running again!

Vetdrms:

That is the setup I was referring to. It looks really good. Please post pics when you get a chance. Does that setup tend to drag over speed bumps and the sort? I'd love to get those warlocks to fit with your type of plumbing setup!!
